SUMMER SONIC 2026: Up to the 2nd Lineup Announcement

SUMMER SONIC 2026 will be held for 3 days from August 14-16. With daily line-ups in Tokyo and Osaka, the artist roster up to the 2nd announcement and ticket info are out.

The big picture of SUMMER SONIC 2026 is coming into view. According to the official website, it will be held for three days from Friday, August 14 to Sunday, August 16, 2026. The venues are ZOZO Marine Stadium & Makuhari Messe for Tokyo, and Expo '70 Commemorative Park for Osaka. This year, it's expanded to a three-day event to mark its 25th anniversary.

The daily lineup is already available on the lineup page. It is structured so that Tokyo on August 14 and Osaka on the 15th have the same content; Tokyo on the 15th and Osaka on the 16th have a different lineup; and Tokyo on the 16th and Osaka on the 14th have yet another lineup. In other words, it's a typical Summer Sonic structure where artists don't just line up the same way in each city but are shuffled across the dates.

Looking at the artists listed so far, this year's direction is quite clear. From BABYMONSTER, JAMIROQUAI, BEABADOOBEE, DOMi & JD BECK, NMIXX, PORTER ROBINSON, JVKE, to domestic stadium-class acts like LiSA, Yuuri, TREASURE, and TOMOO, it covers a wide range including overseas pop, R&B, rock, dance, and Japanese artists. Maintaining its core as a Western music festival while strongly mixing in popular Asian acts and major Japanese artists continues the trend of recent Summer Sonics.

In addition, advance ticket sales for Tokyo 3DAY and Platinum 3DAY tickets, as well as 1DAY and Platinum tickets, have started on the official ticketing page. The official advance tickets with perks are priced at 59,000 yen for 3DAY, 100,000 yen for Platinum 3DAY, 21,000 yen for 1DAY, and 35,000 yen for Platinum. While not cheap just looking at the price, considering the 3-day duration and the depth of the platinum perks, a design focusing more on the "experience itself" than in previous years is apparent.

There's still an "…and more!" left in the lineup section, leaving plenty of room for additional announcements. Extended to three days for its 25th anniversary with varying lineups per city, Summer Sonic 2026 feels closer to an "all-out urban music event" than just a large festival. Depending on future additional acts, this year's scenery could change even more significantly.
